Selian Lutheran Hospital is a Regional Referral Hospital owned by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania – North Central Diocese. It is located in Olorien in Ngaramtoni hamlet within the Arusha District Counsel of the Arusha Region. The Lutheran Church began the health work of the hospital as a small dispensary in 1954. The hospital has grown from a dispensary with a single building to a full service hospital with one hundred sixty beds and offers outpatient and inpatient services with surgical, obstetric and gynecology medical and child health services. The hospital was accredited to Regional referral hospital in January 2021. Selian Lutheran Hospital serves an immediate catchment area consisting of neighboring villages and a larger catchment area consisting of the administrative area of Arusha District Council. The immediate catchment area has an estimated population of four hundred and fifty thousand people. Besides, the hospital serves patients from Meru District Council as well as Longido, Monduli and Ngorongoro districts. Selian Lutheran hospital also receives patients from the regions of Manyara, Singida and Kilimanjaro. The hospital receives 2000 patients per month and a number of inpatients served on daily basis ranges from 80 to 120.

Selian Lutheran Hospital strives to attain this mission by providing competent and compassionate medical care, by promoting health development through community health projects and by proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Out patient services – Causality services, General Out patient services, Eye clinic, Dental clinic, Reproductive and Child health clinic, Family planning, Immunization, HIV/AIDS clinic, Tuberculosis clinic, Hospice and palliative care, Spiritual and holistic counseling, Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy, Specialist clinics for Internal medicine, Pediatric and Child Health, General surgery, ENT, Urology, Orthopedics, Obstetric and Gynecology and Dispensing.
In patient services – Adult and pediatric ICU, Neonatal ICU, Labor ward, Gynecology ward, Adult medicine ward, pediatric ward, general surgery ward and orthopedic ward.
Surgery – Specialized major and minor surgery in General surgery, ENT, Urology, orthopedics, plastic and reconstructive surgery, Fistula surgery, Obstetric and Gynecological surgery.
Diagnostic – Laboratory services for hematology, bacteriology, parasitology, biochemistry and hormonal analysis. X-ray services, Ultrasound services, ECHOCARDIOGRAM, ECG, Endoscopy and CT scan in near future.
Programs – Fistula program, Selian AIDS control program, Nutrition program and pediatric surgery program.
