Interfaith Workshop on Health &Environment Justice

A quarter of the world’s disease burden can be avoided by creating better surroundings, according to research. In order to incorporate environmental justice components in health and interfaith initiatives, the ELCT health and diakonia directorate held a workshop for interfaith leaders from Kilimanjaro, Manyara, Dodoma, and Singida on February 21, 2023. Programs for planting trees and educating people are among the agreements made. Integration will take place for the ELCT Health and Diakonia Directorate in all projects and activities, including SRHR school programs, palliative care as a part of bereavement support for families, and others.

Church Leaders on STG 3, STG4, STG5

We had discussions on the church’s role in supporting the rights to health, education, and gender justice through the church’s structures and platforms. Strengthen integration to help adolescent girls and boys gain access to SRHR education and stay in school to achieve their goals. Support teen mothers’ access to education by addressing issues that prevent them from going back to school.
We are all responsible for making the world a better place for everyone.

SUPPORTING PPES AND MEDICINE

ELCT provided the support of PPEs and medicines to 24 ELCT hospitals and 6 health centers located across the country.
