Orkesumet Lutheran hospital is the Voluntary Agency Hospital owned by Evangelical Lutheran church of Tanzania. North Central Diocese – Arusha. Founded as a dispensary of Simanjiro in1968 and upgraded to council level hospital at 2015.
Lutheran Hospital Orkesumet is headquartered in Simanjiro District with a population of over 320,000 and is located approximately 200 km from Arusha City and more than 250 km from Babati Town. Simanjiro District in the North is bordered by Arumeru, Hai and Moshi Districts. On the south it is bordered by Kiteto District, on the east it is bordered by Mwanga, Same, Kilindi and Korogwe Districts, on the west by Kondoa and Babati Districts.
