Vunjeni Ukimya picture

ELCT health department in collaboration with ELCT-Diocese of Iringa organized training on Sexual reproductive health and rights (SRHR) involving teen mothers and Youth in Kilolo district in the Iringa region from 8th – 11th September 2021.
The modules shared during the training included; family planning, nutrition, positive parenting, gender-based violence and entrepreneurship as a means of overcoming poverty.
A total of 65 young mothers and 53 youth attended the training. The training was very interactive involving the presentation of case studies and testimonies. A low level of understanding of SRHR, cultural barriers in accessing education and services were noted, these calls for more advocacy and support to reach this group in our communities. The activity was funded by the Norwegian Church Aid Tanzania under Vunjeni Ukimya Project.
